         Getting to Placencia

It is very easy to get to Belize from the United States. Continental, American Airlines, and Taca all serve Belize City. Most flights goes through Houston or Miami. The 2½ hours flight will bring you to the Philip Goldson International Airport (flight code BZE) in Belize City.

Placenica is located about 100 miles south of Belize City and the International Airport. There are 3 Ways you can get to Placencia from Belize City, fly, drive or take a bus.

English is the official language. however, many Belizeans speak Creole- Clipped English with a smattering of Spanish. Spanish is also widely spoken, especially in the north.

Average Water Temp: High 70s in the winter and mid-80s in summer.

Water Clarity: On the barrier reef and atolls, visibility is often 100 feet or more, but a bit less inside the reef.

How's the weather in Belize?

Belize's Climate is subtropical, which means pretty warm year-round, especially on the coast, cayes and atolls; luckily a brisk prevailing wind from the Caribbean moderates hot summer temps. Expect summer highs in the mid-80s and lows in the mid-70s. Winter is cooler, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the high 60's.
