Most Dives are boats and are accompanied by a PADI Divemaster or higher. In Placencia Diving is done on the Inner-Reef as well as the Outer-Reef, each with their own characteristics.

The Inner Reef acts as a nursery for juvenile aquatic animals. Because it is protected from the heavy surf outside the barrier reef, you will find a wide abundance of small creatures, including tunicate, anemones, and a multitude of sponges and other invertebrates that cannot survive outside the barrier reef. In the Inner-reef is Faro diving, at Laughing Bird Caye, which is ideal for beginners because the water is calm and clear. While the vast numbers of fish you encounter outside the reef are missing, it more than makes up for it with a wide variety of hard and soft corals.

Here divers will find most sea fans, seawips, sea plumes and sea rods as well as the Pederson cleaner shrimp, yellowline Arrow Crab, Giant Hermit Crab and a wide variety of fish such as Spotted Drum (adults and juveniles), Spotted Eagle Ray and Southern Stingray.

The depth range on these Inner-Reef dives is between 60 ft.- 80ft. visibility is between 50ft -100ft. among the cayes we visited in the Inner-Reef are Laughing Bird Caye, Moho Caye and Tarpon caye.

The Outer Reef, or Barrier Reef, is home to some of the most spectacular walls in the country. These walls start from around 40ft. and drop off to the deep abyss. here the maximum depth for diving is 100ft. and is multi Level diving.

Canyoun Diving is also available at the Ourter-Reef. Canyouns are Large heads of Lettuce, Stag Horn, Brain and Elk Horn coral that form at right angles to the drop off. Valleys of White carol sands that separate these huge mounds of coral form ideal resting places for Nurse Sharks And Rays. Some of the Canyouns are 30ft deep. These canyoons start at about 20ft water depth and slope to about 80ft. near the barrier dorp off.

Turtles, manta Ray, Eels and lobster are just a few of the creatures divers will encounter on the Outer-Reef. Outer-Reef visibility is sometimes better than that of the Inner-Reef, around 80 feet to-120. Diving depth is 80ft. to maximum 100ft. among the cayes visited at the outer reef are the silk caye, pompion caye, Ranguana caye and Round caye.

Local Dives are Daily 2- tank dive trips, starting at the dive center at 9:00 a.m. however diver’s are expected to be at the dive center by 8:30 a.m. to get suited up with diving equipment and filling release forms.

After the first dive we go to one of our beautiful cayes for a surface interval for approximately 1½ – 2 hours. Here we have a beach Barbeque lunch. After lunch we set out for another dive spot and our second dive. then it’s back to the comforts of

Each day your dive master determines the best site depending on the interests of the group and the weather conditions of the day. Dive sites and destination are also rotated almost every day so as not to repeat the same dives.
Requirement:

You must be a Certified Scuba Diver, in good health and have dive within 12 months. If you have not been diving within 12 months time, it is recommended that you do a Refresher Course.
What To Bring:

Bring plenty of sunscreen and a towel, the dive center should provide everything else you need. The Water Temprature in Belize is generally warm About 78o- 81 oF, so if you’re bringing your own gears, a short 3mm wetsuit will be perfect. However November through March can be a little bit cooler, about 76o- 79oF, so if you get cold easily you should bring a Long wetsuit. If you dont have any diving equipment the dive shop will provide rental equipments. Also, bring an under water camara, not the disposable ones, but the ones for takeing good pictures. There will be alot of aahsum stuff for you to take pictures when your down there. Enjoy the Diving in Belize, and don’t forget to have fun!!!

Then Discover Scuba Diving is for you. Discover the weightlessness and adventures of the underwater world as only a scuba diver can experience.

$125.00/per person
Resort Course

A PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to find out what scuba diving is really like before you take the full scuba certification course.

How the Resort Course Works
Your scuba instructor will spend a little time with you to explain the basic principles of scuba diving and give you an overview of your scuba gear, which is supplied by the dive shop.

Once you feel comfortable, your instructor will take you in shallow water to help you learn basic scuba skills. Then, if you like, you can go with your instructor for a short discovery dive up to 40 feet/ 12 metres. Most Discover Scuba Diving experiences about an hour or two.

The skills you learn during your Discover Scuba Diving experience may be credited toward the full PADI Open Water Diver certification.

The Fun Part
The Scuba Diver certification opens the door on the underwater world for anyone who’s thought that a course would take too long or be too difficult.

Upgrade to Open Water Diver whenever you want! With less time than the Scuba Diver course takes, you can make the jump to Open Water Diver certification and start scuba diving independently whenever time allows or you’re up for more
What You Learn
All the basics of scuba diving through knowledge development, a set of scuba skills in the pool that you’ll use again during open water dives, and an appreciation for the underwater world that will keep you coming back for more bottom time every chance you get!

During the course you’ll cover material and practice skills related to topics such as:

Buoyancy skills including comfortable ascents and descents, and breathing underwater.
Staying warm underwater, streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques.
Diving environments and aquatic life you’re likely to encounter.
Preventing common problems underwater.
An introduction to boat diving.

The Scuba Gear You Use
You’ll use all the basic scuba gear and some of it may be included with your course. You may want to invest in your own mask, snorkel and fins since these personal items are a lot more fun to use when they fit properly. A buoyancy compensating jacket that holds your scuba tank, a scuba regulator that delivers air, a weight system and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply will also be used. Depending on the scuba diving environment, you might also wear a scuba wetsuit.

Placencia’s famous sidewalk thoroughfare is listed by Guinness World Records lists as the narrowest main street in the world. The walkway, originally laid down in the 1940s then paved in the ’60s, measures 4,071 feet long and 4 feet wide. Locals and visitors use it as the town’s major artery, leading them north from the harbor past shops, guesthouses and beach bars.

Take a walk down the famous “Sidewalk” and make sure you notice the local ettique for traffic. Single walkers, please step off for couples, elderly people, Mom’s with kids, and of course wheel barrows.
