Scuba Dive & Snorkel
The Seahorse Dive Shop is owned and operated by PADI dive instructor Brian Young. Brian has many years of training experience and many, many years of diving experience. He was one of Placencia first dive masters and instructors. Prior to opening his dive shop, Brian was a native fisherman and skin diver. He knows the reef as only someone who has made a living from the sea can.
Diving is done on the Inner-Reef as well as the Outer reefs, each with their own special features. The Inner-Reef is home to Faro Diving, where as the outer reef is known for its spectacular wall and canyon dives, the best in the county. Apart from its rich coral and marine life, Placencia is also world famous for Whale Sharks Diving where divers get a chance to have a close encounter with the biggest fish in the world.
The Blue Hole excursions begins early, leaving the dock about 6am and returning around 5pm. We go straight to Dive and Snorkel The Blue Hole on arriving at Light House Reef. Then we do a second dive outside Half Moon Caye (The Bird Sanctuary), after which we have lunch on Half Moon Caye and Tour the Bird Sanctuary. A third dive will be done at Long Caye at Light House Reef, after which we head back home.
Seahorse Dive Shop offers scuba instruction and certifications for all levels of divers. We offer several courses ranging from first time divers to advanced open water certification for more experienced divers.
