The Adventure Continues with a PADI Advanced Open Water Course

The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to advance your diving and build upon what you’ve learned during the open water certification course.  The course will take your confidence and diving skills to new levels by gaining experience through five different Adventure Dives under the direct supervision of our PADI Dive Instructor.  The completion of this course will expand your access to more challenging dive sites and more way to have fun scuba diving.

Academics

There are two ways to complete the academic portion of the PADI Advanced Open Water Certification Course. You can either pick up a hard copy of the Advanced Open Water Manual here at the dive shop or you could do it online with PADI eLearning.

The PADI eLearning is designed to let you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace. The in-water portion of the course is an additional cost to PADI's online course fee and is sold separately as eLearning Advanced Open Water Completion Course.  There you can find out more about how to sign up eLearning and the cost to complete the course.

Optional Refresher

If you've not been diving for a while, it's recommended that you do a refresher prior to doing the PADI Advanced Open Water Course. This is also a good way to get used to the diving equipment and acclimate your self to diving in Belize and the Dive Shop.

Adventure Dives

When you're finish with the Academic and/or the optional refresher training, it time to complete the required 5 Adventure  dives.  Two of the dives are compulsory, these are Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation. The other  3 dives can be chosen by you after consulting with your Instructor and according to the environment where the course is held. These optional Adventure dive may include:

  • Boat Diving
  • Drift Diving
  • Night Diving
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Wreck Diving

Mandatory Medical Questionnaire

Download and fill out this mandatory Medical Questionnaire, which will assess if you meet the minimum physical requirements to safely participate in this course. If you answer "YES"  to any of the questions listed, the Medical Questionnaire must be completely filled and signed by a physician. 

You'll also need to fill out a  Liability Release Form. Remember to bring your completed medical questionnaire and the certified diver liability release form to the dive shop.
